Experts Talk: Is Hereditary Hair Loss A Thing?

Many women lose hair during menopause when significant hormonal changes are taking place. Hereditary hair loss for women usually begins around the age of 30 and generally becomes noticeable within about 10 years by the age of 40.

While many think hair loss is caused by the maternal DNA when in fact the genes that influence hereditary hair loss can come from both sides of the family tree. The primary cause for you to end up getting it could also be largely influenced by the number of relatives you have on each side that suffer from it. While the chances are high for one to get hereditary hair loss in such a situation, it is also possible for one to carry the genes but not suffer from hair loss.

While eating well and taking necessary steps won't entirely cure it, it will provide support and nourishment to your existing hair that will ensure that all you're left with is hair that is voluminous, supple and full of life.
